Hi, I’m Lyndal. I have enjoyed working in Family Day Care (FDC) for 26 years since my eldest child was 1. It was a great business to be involved in as I wanted to be home with my children while they grew up. In the early years they were part of my FDC group and now as adults, they still love interacting with the FDC children on their days off.
I have found it delightful to watch each child interact, develop and grow across the years that they are with me, and develop their own unique personalities. I love their enthusiasm, energy, innocence and most of all; their imagination and creativity.
I have found FDC to be a wonderful career as well as a fantastic child care option for young children. The low educator/child ratio, makes it easier to be able to give the children the nurturing and attention they deserve and need at such a young age. The children only need to build a relationship and confidence with 1 educator throughout their child care life, helping to give it more of a natural family environment.
Program
Each child is precious, important and unique, with their own individual personalities and interests. Early child hood is such an exciting, fun time of a child’s life with so many new experiences and discoveries. It’s a time for learning and exploring through play and for learning some life skills.
I aim to do this in a fun, relaxed secure and comfortable, environment with a flexible routine where the children can absorb the world around them at their own pace.
I hope to assist them to develop their own individual identity through guidance, choices, and for each child to be involved in decision making with regards to the program.
I work with them to build on their confidence, independence, resilience, respect, empathy, and cooperation with others through their daily activities.
The program is based on the children’s interests with some additional preschool age appropriate topics and activities included to broaden the children’s knowledge and interests. I have found the children love these additional topics and they often expand on them in their play.
Many of the activities provided are open ended, allowing the children to be creative and imaginative. I also consult with parents to form parts of the program for their child.
Activities
Indoors – Dolls, cars, trucks, train set, duplo, mega blocks, animal sets, dressups, playdough, drawing, colouring, painting, crafts, story books, DVD (on the big screen)
Outdoors – cars, bikes, balls, bats, large trucks, sandpit, cubby house, swing, slide, sea saw, rocking horses, tunnel set, tents, vegetable garden, fruit trees to water, flowers to pick in spring, wading pool, water tray, dinosaur and farm animal sets, chalk drawing and sheep in the back paddock. There are also some occasional outings to local parks and duck pond

Lyndal has been looking after my son for 2+ years now and she is great. Caring, attentive and reliable.
My son loves going there and is always happy when we drop and pick him up.
Lyndal provides a daily print out with photos showing what he did that day which I really appreciate.
I have no hesitation recommending Lyndal as an educator to other parents. You can tell she is very experienced and loves her job.
