I moved over to Melbourne from New Zealand over 6 years ago with plenty of experience within the child care industry. Prior to moving I was a swimming school teacher, teaching children as young as 5 months old and growing up, my mother also ran a family daycare.
Watching my mother gave me inspiration and my passion for working with children grew quickly. Once old enough I began my studies and my role as a swim teacher, then after some time due to the devastating Christchurch earthquake, I made my move to Melbourne. Here I have done further studies, obtained relevant first aid certificates and finally started up my very own family daycare.
I take a lot of pride in providing a warm and friendly environment for young children to grow and develop. I supply nappies and nutritious food for all my children and where possible, the children help with food prep and we do plenty of baking! I also live in a new estate with a couple of great playgrounds and outdoor areas so we often walk over or stop by on our way home from kindergarten as I do a few pick ups throughout the week. We all enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors so we really like to make the most of the sunshine. I have plenty of toys for children to play with as they please and often will provide activities based on individual interests and ages, otherwise they are all free and comfortable to make themselves at home!
I love a child’s inquisitive nature and seeing their developing independence as they learn and grow and feel honoured to be a part of what makes each little one a true individual, I am sure yours will love being here!
